Three Poems by M.Sridhar

1

A Yawning Gap

I was terribly disturbed

it was turning out to be

a yawning gap

by definition

a distance

in our relationship

almost

impossible

to bridge.

But what a relief!

Watch it carefully!

The proverbial yawn

in real-time

lasts

just

a

finger snap.

2

An Artist

Herself

who could have been a tree of life

grows a tree from her hair

a leaf from her mouth

And

a flutterby

from her eye!

(A Poem After Annu’s Art)

3

My Monet’s Worth

Monet’s painting

inspired by the pond he built

drawn even as he was going nearly blind

fetched him

priceless money

for it sunk into his hands

into his very being.

This is my poem

No price it may fetch me.

Invaluable nevertheless

it shall be

for it’s all my own!
