Richik Banerjee’s Two Poems

Richik Banerjee is a young poet who has been deconstructing set ‘isms’ and experimenting with his own approach to life and poetry by way of forms, content and style. His verses intrigue as he tries to deconstruct the very act of writing! Richik’s poetry catches the reader off hand and give a jolt as she/he tries to decode the underlying meaning, compelling one to be immersed in his works! A lot remains unexplored and unsaid in the obvious, this poet seems to navigate this space!

Richik Banerjee is pursuing PhD in English from Amity University Kolkata. His research articles on sahitya have been published in national and international journals and in edited anthologies. His debut poetry book, ‘Two Commas And That Voice’ was published in 2021 by Authorspress, New Delhi. His second poetry book titled ‘…URINE, YOGHURT, PSYCHOTOMY’ was published in 2022 by the same publisher. His third poetry book in Bangla titled ‘এক জোড়া মোজার ভিন্নমত’ (‘a pair of dissenting socks’) was published by Ashawari Prakashani in 2022. His fourth multilingual project on radical inutility (anti-work) in the literature, titled ‘এল-ডোপা’ (‘L-Dopa’) was published by Gangchil Prokashona in 2023. He is a member of the Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library (IPPL), a non-profit organization that aims to generate academic interest towards poetry, nurture creativity and reading habits. He is one of the editors at Virasat Art Publication, Kolkata. He is one of the members of Haoajan Publishers, Kolkata. He is one of the members of the Indian Network for Memory Studies (INMS), which is the first national network for scholars in Memory Studies in Asia under the aegis of the Memory Studies Association.
